Half A Mile Above The Earth In Turkey

I have always wanted to ride in a hot air balloon. When I lived in San Francisco I often thought of going in Napa. Alas I never made the trip. So when I got to Turkey and heard that the thing to do in Cappadocia was a sunrise hot air balloon ride I knew that my dream would finally come true.

I booked the flight with little thought. It wasn’t until a day or two before the flight that I got worried I might get scared. I am not afraid of heights but to be just in a tiny wicker basket way above earth’s surface seemed a little crazy. But, once we were in the air all my fears drifted away. It was so peaceful! I would highly recommend watching the sunrise from a hot air balloon to everyone at least once in their lives. Cross that off the Bucket List!

Wonderful pictures 🙂 When were you in Cappadocia? I went there this summer, in the middle of July. Magic place!!

    • Thanks! I was there in July as well! How funny if we had been there at the same time. It was a magical place although Urfa was my favorite in all of Turkey. If you haven’t been next time check out the Southeastern parts of the country!
